The Atlanta Hawks have reportedly put up the for sale sign over their entire roster, however, one specific player is currently viewed as untouchable.
This past season was not at all what the Atlanta Hawks had hoped for. Several players from the team that went to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021 were still on the roster, and they added an All-Star-level talent in Dejounte Murray during the offseason. Yet they performed worse this season than they had in the previous two.

The Atlanta Hawks’ 41-41 record may have been a result of a bunch of drama throughout the organization. For months there were rumors of issues in the locker room that eventually led to head coach Nate McMillan being fired. And the front office saw a great deal of change as Nick Ressler, the son of the team’s owner, gained a lot of influence in the organization.
It is unsurprising then that the team is open to a complete roster overhaul and has already let those around the league know anyone is available, except for one. On Friday, Yahoo Sports NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that “The Hawks have told opposing teams Atlanta is open to conversations about all of its roster outside of Trae Young.”
Which players are Atlanta Hawks most likely to trade?
It is no big surprise that the Atlanta Hawks are not interested in moving Trae Young. Despite rumors a few months ago that he might be traded, he is their most talented and marketable player. Furthermore, recent reports have suggested that the organization likely would not get a satisfactory return in a deal for the two-time All-Star anyway.
With that said, there are definitely several players the team could ship off this summer. At the top of that list is forward John Collins. They reportedly had him on the trade block all of last season and it would be shocking if he was still on the team by the start of training camp.
Fischer noted in his report that “The most inbound trade calls Atlanta has gotten, dating back to the trade deadline, have been focused on young center Onyeka Okongwu.” Okongwu is a former lottery pick who at just 22 still has some upside if placed in a different situation.
After losing his starting job to Murray this season, Bogdan Bogdanovic could also appeal to some teams. He is a talented three-point shooter who can offer instant offense, especially for a contending team, off the bench.
